- Consulting Managers will lead various projects that encompass different stages of the transaction life cycle including buy-side financial due diligence, sell-side accounting, and post-transaction work (e.g. purchase accounting, working capital reconciliation, financial and management reporting process improvement).
- Roles vary based on the nature of the project but generally include significant involvement in the planning stages (e.g. development of procedures, scoping, data room review, etc.), facilitating communication with client personnel (e.g. participating in conference calls, engagement status updates, project timelines, etc.), analysis of financial information (e.g. high level financial statement comparisons, key ratios, pro-forma, etc.), assessing the control environment (e.g. review key accounting policies and processes, identifying control gaps, etc.), and drafting and finalizing deliverables and reports.
- Consulting Managers usually assist in leading engagement teams consisting of 2 to 4 people.
- The length of a due diligence assignment is usually 2 to 4 weeks though post transaction and special accounting project assignments can last up to 3-6 months.
- As many of our projects are out of town, moderate travel (10-30%) may be required. Utilization varies between 50-110% with the average utilization between 60-85%.
- Consulting Managers must be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment with ambiguous work patterns.
- Professionals need to be self motivated and are encouraged to participate in business development, networking and recruiting activities.
- An accounting, finance or economics degree is required. Must have a CPA certification.
